Parents & Guardians, we encourage you to register for the New Worlds Scholarship. The scholarship can be used for different academic resources. MLC Prep Academy is registered with Step Up to accept the New Worlds Scholarship to cover tutoring after school.
2024-25 New Worlds Scholarship Accounts applications are now available! Families apply for and manage their scholarship accounts through the Education Market Assistant (EMA).
Funds are limited for the 2024-25 school year. Please encourage families to apply quickly to have the best chance of receiving a scholarship before funds run out.
New Worlds Scholarship Accounts (NWSA) will be worth $1,200, and families may choose from Step Up For Students' direct-pay options to use their scholarship dollars. Families will shop for approved educational services and products through EMA.
As long as funds remain available, VPK and public school students in grades K-5 may be eligible for a New Worlds Scholarship Account if they:
Have a substantial reading deficiency or exhibits characteristics of dyslexia as identified under s. 1008.25(5)
Or scored below a Level 3 on the statewide, standardized English Language Arts (ELA) assessment in the prior school year.
Or have a substantial deficiency in mathematics or the characteristics of dyscalculia as identified under s. 1008.25(6)
Or scored below a Level 3 on the statewide, standardized Mathematics assessment in the prior school year.
An eligible student who is classified as an English Language Learner and is enrolled in a program or receiving services that are specifically designed to meet the instructional needs of English Language Learner students shall receive priority.
